I met Pam playing Badminton at the local church hall and we became firm friends sharing many happy times together. We went on to play tennis at Purley Bury Tennis Club, where Pam later became the quizmistress extraordinaire at her regular 'Pam's Night' quizzes! Her quizzes were always oversubscribed and you only challenged her answers once!! In the early years of our friendship, we had great days out with Pam on their luxury Princess yacht, Ace of Harts, when we would go from Southampton to Cowes, Isle of Wight, to have a picnic on board and drink some champagne. Our children enjoyed holidays with all of us together in Spain and at Center Parcs with Samantha, Amanda, Katy and James all having fun during the day followed by a curry from Pam or a spaghetti Bolognese from me. They were super times. Over the years, we all enjoyed birthday parties, dinner parties, swimming parties and days out at Eastbourne and the Albert Hall to watch tennis, with Pam always organising us to be there for these fun days together. Pam was a very special person, she had an infectious laugh, a kind heart and was a loving mother and grandmother, as well as being the perfect friend. We will miss her very much indeed.
